Signing Ceremony of Cooperation Agreement with Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal

In the afternoon of February 11th 2014, the signing ceremony of cooperation agreement between Joint Stock Company UTC2 (University of Transport and Communications) and Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Corporation (Japan) was organized at the University of Transport and Communications.

Prof. Dr. Tran Dac Su, Rector of UTC and concurrent holder of Chairman of the Executive Council of Joint Stock Company UTC2 and Mr. Shinichi Nakamura, Executive Officer-Head of Unit of Construction Products were signing the agreement

The purpose of this Agreement is to promote the application of Japanese steel construction technology and products in constructions works in Vietnam, to promote and provide technical consulting services about the application of Japanese advanced steel construction technology and product such as pipe piles (PP) and steel sheet piles (SP).

On the other hand, annually NSSMC provides opportunities to students and engineers of UTC2 to carry out activities in research and academic exchange in the area of steel production technology and “PP” and “SP” application with experts from NSSMC and Japanese universities in Vietnam and Japan. Besides, two parties also study other possible future cooperation in business fields in which both parties are interested.
