UTC delegation led by Rector to Japan

According to the invitation of Nippon Steel & Sumitoto Metal Corporation leaders, the UTC delegation led by Rector Prof. Dr. Tran Dac Su paid a working visit to Japan from May 23rd to June 1st 2014 to develop the cooperation between UTC and the corporation on scientific research, technological transfer and supporting education.

Nippon Steel & Sumitoto Metal Corporation is the largest corporation in Japan and the second largest one in the world. It has got some branches in Vietnam and good relationship with UTC for recent years. In the working visit to Japan, the delegation had a good time to work with Representative Director and Vice President Mr. Kinya Yanagawa to make a plan of cooperation activities such as holding scientific workshops, organizing the short term courses for Vietnamese staff and a project of main laboratory on verifying the quality of steel structures in Vietnam as well.

At that time, the delegation also paid a working visit to Technical Research and Development Bureau of the corporation to discuss the contents of research next years.

In addition, the delegation spent time to visit some typical products applied advanced-technology-steel structure such as Haneda Floating Airport, Tokyo Gate Bridge in Tokyo Bay and the new Tokyo Television Tower.

The working visit of UTC delegation has got successfully achievements and opened a potential period of cooperation between UTC and Nippon Steel & Sumitoto Metal Corporation.
