The delegation of Saxony State – Germany paid a working visit to UTC

In the morning of November 21st 2018, the delegation of Saxony State-Germany led by H.E Minister of Economic Affairs, Labor and Transport Martin Dulig and 24 members visited and worked at University of Transport and Communications (UTC).

The representatives of the Leader Board and functional units of the UTC warmly welcomed and worked with the German delegation. Attending the meeting were the representative of Ministry of Transport Mr. Tran Viet Ha - Deputy Director of International Cooperation Department and the Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam led by Mr. Marko Walde - Chief Representative. The meeting took place in an atmosphere of friendship and the desire to promote cooperation on both sides.

Speaking to welcome the H.E Minister and the German delegation, the Rector of University of Transport and Communications Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Long introduced the university, expressed his great gratitude and highly appreciated the cooperative results with German partners for the development career of the university in the past years and expected to continue the cooperation with German partners. The Rector emphasized: “…In the coming years, in order to meet the requirement of training human resources in Vietnam, we would like to cooperate with partners from Germany in education and research in the fields of ITS; Railway system engineering; Logistics; Urban planning and management; Transport safety…”. The opinions of the Rector were highly appreciated by the Minister and the German delegation.

H.E Minister Martin Dulig also stated in his comments that “during this trip, we choose the University of Transport and Communications to visit and exchange cooperation because we highly appreciate your university for the collaborative achievements you have gained with our universities like TU Dresden; TU Darmstadt; Biberach University, ... We highly appreciate the role of the University of Transport and Communications with the development of Vietnam's transport generally and the railway system of Vietnam particularly. I also appreciate the fact that you established the Vietnam - German Cooperation Center to develop cooperation and connect the cooperation between German and Vietnamese universities and businesses. Hopefully, the cooperation between two sides will achieve more results in the future”.

The meeting also received many ideas of two sides’ delegates and witnessed the signing of the cooperation agreement between Vietnam-German Cooperation Center (VGCC) and Centre of Competence of Railway Signalling and Safety (CERSS).

The visit of the delegation of the Saxony State - Germany at the University of Transport and Communications is a good start for a new cooperation stage between Vietnam and Germany in general and the University of Transport and Communications with German partners in particular.
