The Signing ceremony for joint two-stage training program was held on Oct 2nd 2018 at University of Transport and Communications.

The delegation of University of Bedfordshire led by Prof. Ashraf Jawaid - Deputy Vice Chancellor for international affairs attended the signing ceremony. On behalf of the University of Transport and Communications (UTC), Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong was authorized by the Rector to sign the Agreement. This is a good chance for UTC’s students to continue studying at University of Bedfordshire and to receive the University of Bedfordshire degree.

After exchanging and reviewing each other’s curriculum, two sides agreed to set up a 3+1 training program for students of the advanced training program including 03 years at UTC following the recent advanced training program and 01 year at University of Bedfordshire following the training program of Construction Management. Students will be issued the graduation degree by University of Bedfordshire. The minimum English requirement for studying in Bedfordshire is IELTS 6.0. Students enrolled in any university pay the tuition fee according to the regulations of that university. Particularly, students will receive a scholarship worth about 20% of their tuition fee when studying at the University of Bedfordshire.

University of Bedfordshire is a public university and is prestigious in the system of universities of the United Kingdom with a scale of about 20 thousand students and 5 campuses. The main campus is located in Bedfordshire, not far from London capital. The University of Bedfordshire is very successful in the international cooperation, attracting a large number of about 5 thousand foreign students studying here. In collaboration with Vietnam, University of Bedfordshire has been known to be very successful in the collaborative training programs with Foreign Trade University for more than a decade. At present, there are between 50 and 90 Vietnam students following this program each year.

It is hoped that the collaborative program between UTC and University of Bedfordshire will attract a number of students in the coming years. This is an opportunity for advanced program students to experience the challenges of an advanced educational environment in the UK. The collaborative program is also a prerequisite for the two sides to cooperate in master and other training programs in the university.
