Brief overview:

Faculty of Construction Engineering was a new name instead of the Institute of Construction Engineering by the decision of the rector of UTC on December 4th, 2015.

Faculty of Construction Engineering is a basic administrative unit of the University of Transport and Communications with task of training and research in the areas of transport, civil and industrial construction. The faculty has a team of over 40 teachers and researchers inclusive 1 Professor, 2 Ass. Professors 8 Dr, 19 MSc graduated from many countries around the world.

In training the faculty is responsible for under- and graduate training in Civil Engineering with four main majors:

  • Building materials and construction technology,
  • Structural Engineering,
  • Urban Infrastructure Engineering,
  • Building and Industrial Engineering.

There are currently over 1,000 students annually taking part in training at the faculty.

The scientific research priorities at the faculty are:

  • High-performance and green building materials with possible applications in the transportation and civil engineering.
  • Hybrid and lightweight structures for efficient application of high-performance materials in construction engineering.
  • Novel methods in analysis of modern the structure.
  • Simulation and analysis of structure behavior under special loads such as earthquakes, wind, fire, etc.
  • Multi sensor system for health monitoring of structure
  • Multi sensor system for fire management in building (in cooperation with TU Darmstadt)
