DIGITAL COMPETENCY TRAINING PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS UNDER THE THEME "APPLICATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN LEARNING AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH"
On April 15, 2025, the University of Transport and Communications organized a Digital Competency Training Program for Students under the theme: “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Learning and Scientific Research.”
UTC’s faculty members and students attended the program.
As a national key university in the field of transport, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) is actively implementing digital transformation through various initiatives, including training and workshops aimed at equipping faculty and students with digital competency skills.
In the opening speech of the program, Dr. Mai Nam Phong – Director of Student Affairs Department emphasized: "Utilizing technology to support learning and research is an important approach to keep up with global technological development advancements. The training program on the Application of Artificial Intelligence in Learning and Scientific Research is part of a series of activities aimed at equipping students with digital skills. We hope that participating students will apply and spread the knowledge gained throughout their academic journey." He also expressed his gratitude to the program's speaker, Dr. Dinh Viet Sang – Vice Principal of the School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, for his collaboration in supporting the University's digital transformation efforts.

During the training session, faculty members and students of the University had the opportunity to hear from Dr. Dinh Viet Sang – Vice Principal of the School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, who provided an overview of fundamental concepts in AI. He also introduced a variety of practical AI applications and tools such as: the NotebookLM tool, AI-based slide generation tools, Google AI Studio, Deep Search with Grok 3.0, the Ollama + Open Web UI tool, and several image creation and editing tools.
Dr. Dinh Viet Sang – Vice Princial of the School of Information and Communication Technology, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, presented the content on AI.
The next part of the program was a special topic on Applying AI Tools in Foreign Language Learning, presented by Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa - Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and Founder of IMAP Vietnam Education and Training Company. The content of this topic provided helpful suggestions for students on how to approach and use AI tools to effectively improve their English speaking and writing skills.
