The University of Transport and Communications – Campus in Ho Chi Minh City (UTC-HCMC Campus), also known as The University of Transport and Communications – Campus II (UTC2), was established on April 27th, 1990 under Decision No. 2419/TCCB by the Minister of Education and Training. Today, UTC-HCMC Campus is a prestigious research and training institution in the field of transport and communications in Southern Vietnam and it is an inseparable component of the University of Transport and Communications (UTC).
As of May 2020, the UTC - HCMC Campus has a total of 199 staff, including 139 lecturers with 3 associate professors, 24 doctors, 92 masters. Many of them graduated from prestigious domestic and international institutions. The Campus has been offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various modes of study: full-time, in-service, secondary degree, part-time. The number of students each year at the Campus is about 7,000. Many generations of students have been key figures of ministries, boards, regional authorities, enterprises, and other organizations in Vietnam and abroad.
The Campus's facilities for teaching and studying are regularly upgraded and newly invested. The dormitory is modernly equipped with a capacity of nearly 2,000 students. Moreover, the Campus also has sports playgrounds, gyms, artificial grass ground and other services to meet the accommodation needs of students.
Over 30 years of construction and development (April 27, 1990 - April 27, 2020), the UTC - HCMC Campus has been awarded many noble titles by the State for its great contribution to the cause of education, socio-economic development, modernization and industrialization of the Country.
