On February 24, 2025, at the Railway College – Da Nang Branch, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) coordinated with the Railway College to organize the opening ceremony of the Control and Automation Engineering class 29.1  for technical staff and workers of Railway Signal Information Companies (Da Nang, Vinh, Saigon) and individuals who need to study to improve their qualifications to meet the needs of individuals and units.

Attending the Opening Ceremony, on behalf of the University of Transport and Communications, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoai Duc - Vice President; Dr. Pham Thanh Ha – Director of Undergraduate Education Department; On behalf of the Railway College, there were Dr. Truong Trong Vuong - Vice Principal in charge of the college; Mr. Dang Hieu Dan - Deputy Director in charge of Da Nang Branch; representatives of departments and faculties of the University of Transport and Communications, Railway College, lecturers; On behalf of the units with employees participating in the class, there were Mr. Nguyen Bao Anh - Director of Da Nang Railway Training Center Joint Stock Company, Mr. Tran Van Thang - Deputy Head of Organization - Administration Department of Vinh Railway Training Center Joint Stock Company, Ms. Le Thi Hong Hue - Head of Organization - Administration Department of Saigon Railway Training Center Joint Stock Company and 36 students attending the class.

Overview of the Opening Ceremony

The University of Transport and Communications is the leading university in Vietnam in training human resources at the undergraduate, master and doctoral levels for the railway and high-speed railway sectors. Since its establishment in 1962, the University has trained in fields related to the railway sector such as railway construction, railway vehicles, railway signal information, railway power systems, railway exploitation and organization. Up to now, the University has trained thousands of engineers, hundreds of masters and doctors in the railway sector, meeting the demand for high-quality human resources in the railway sector in the past and present.

With the goal of training human resources for enterprises in the railway sector, in the recent years, the University has coordinated with the Railway College to organize enrollment and training of Control and Automation Engineering engineers specializing in Signal Information for officers and technical staff of Railway Signal Information Companies in the Central and Southern regions.

At the Opening Ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoai Duc - Vice President of the University of Transport and Communications and Dr. Truong Trong Vuong - Vice President in charge of the Railway College assigned tasks to the functional units of the two institutions to effectively organize the course, thanked the businesses for trusting the two institutions and creating conditions for students to participate in the course, and encouraged the students to make efforts to study and practice to complete the course on time.

Dr. Truong Trong Vuong - Vice President in charge of Railway College gave a speech about the direction of cooperation between the two institutions.

Mr. Nguyen Bao Anh - Director of Danang Railway Signal Information Joint Stock Company, representing the enterprise sending students to study, gave a speech to encourage and assign tasks to the students.

According to the training cooperation agreement between the Railway College and the University of Transport and Communications in 2024, the enrollment work is carried out with the support, attention, and facilitation in all aspects of the families and units with participating students. The class was established according to Decision No. 318/QD-DHGTVT dated February 13, 2025 of the University of Transport and Communications.
