Grand opening ceremony of KONE Academy at University of Transport and Communications
On January 16, 2024, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) and KONE Vietnam Co., Ltd. solemnly held the "Granding Opening Ceremony of KONE Academy in Hanoi" located at the UTC. The event was witnessed by Mr. Touko Piiparinen, Deputy Ambassador of the Republic of Finland in Vietnam.

Participating in the event, on the side of UTC, there was the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong - Party Committee Secretary, Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoai Duc - Vice President and representatives of the departments: International Cooperation & Development Studies, Facility Management, Administration, Student affairs; Leaders of faculties and departments within the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical - Electronic Engineering. On KONE Vietnam's side, there was the participation of Mr. King Cheng - Managing Director, members of the Board of Directors and partners of company.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong said: "Cooperating with businesses in training helps UTC innovate content, programs and training methods in the direction of combining theoretical research and practice - experiments, helping to train students with a solid foundation of professional knowledge to meet the needs of domestic and international businesses. UTC believes that Kone Academy in Hanoi will contribute to helping KONE's brand and reputation grow through high-quality trained human resources, bringing benefits to both KONE and UTC in the future".

KONE Academy in Hanoi is the result of cooperation between KONE Vietnam and UTC to serve the training of installation, alignment, and maintenance of elevators & escalators; teaching, training, internship, practice, and scientific research for lecturers, graduate students and undergraduate students of UTC in the field of elevators & escalators. This new training center is KONE's first facility in Hanoi and the second in Vietnam after the Academy in Ho Chi Minh City.
