Press Release - International Conference on Sustainable Development and Climate Change Adaptation in Transportation 2023 (SDCAT 2023)
On December 19, 2023, the University of Transport and Communications and the Department of Transport of Ho Chi Minh City organized an international conference on Sustainable Development and Climate Change Adaptation in Transportation 2023 (SDCAT 2023). This is the first conference in a series of conferences on Sustainable Development and Climate Change Adaptation in Transportation that will be held every two years in Ho Chi Minh City, the country's leading economic, scientific and technical development center and also a key area for climate change issues in region.
This conference was organized in a combination of on-site and online, attracting the participation of scientists, experts, and state management agencies on science, technology and transportation in the Mekong Delta region; along with the companionship as sponsors of 25 large organizations and businesses in the transportation industry of Vietnam and Korea.
The conference plenary session will be held on the morning of December 19, 2023 at Hall C1, Ho Chi Minh campus, University of Transport and Communications, address 451 Le Van Viet, Tang Nhon Phu A Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City, run by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung - Expert in the field of highway and traffic engineering, Vice President of the University of Transport and Communications.
The opening speech of the conference will be presented by Dr. Nguyen Duc Kien - Member of the Prime Minister's economic advisory group.
Next will be 05 presentations by the main speakers of the conference on issues of concrete application using recycled materials (Prof. Yasuhiro Dosho – Meijo University, Japan); Sustainable technology in transportation infrastructure construction (Prof. Seo Soo-Yeon - Korea National University of Transport); Organizing public transportation for small and medium-sized cities: lessons from Kochi city (Prof. Nishiuchi Hiroaki, Kochi Technical University, Japan); Latest achievements and development trends in bridge construction technology in Vietnam (Prof. Tran Duc Nhiem - University of Transport and Communications, Vietnam); The development of sustainable transportation (Prof. Michael Lehmann - Erfurt Technical University, Germany); Sustainable development and resilience of infrastructure under the impact of extreme conditions and climate change (Prof. Adnan Ibrahimbegovic - Compiegne Technical University, France).
Professional presetations in the fields of Materials, Construction Engineering, Traffic Engineering and Transportation Economics were organized into 5 parallel sessions in the afternoon of the same day with more than 80 high-quality presentations from experts coming from developed countries such as Germany, France, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China and from the country's major transportation academic centers such as the University of Transport and Communications, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering, Vietnam Maritime University, Da Nang University, Ton Duc Thang University, Vietnamese - German University...
