In the afternoon of the 21^st November 2022, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) held the Signing ceremony of Cooperation Agreement with KONE Vietnam LLC. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Bas Degeling – Managing Director, Mr. Cao Duc Dung – Northern Regional Manager, and the representatives of the functional units of KONE Vietnam. From the UTC, there were the presence of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Long – President, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong – Vice President, and the leaders of International Cooperation and Development Studies Department, Facility Management Department, Undergraduate Education Department, Faculty of Electrical-Electronic Engineering, and Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

Representing the University speaking at the cooperation signing ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong affirmed that the UTC has been always interested in developing cooperative relationships with businesses to implement cooperative activities in training and scientific research. The University will coordinate with KONE Vietnam to set up a classroom at Building A4 to serve as a classroom for theory, control model and module for the main systems of the elevator and propose relevant functional units between the two sides, exchange details soon to receive two KONE elevators for moving and practical training at Building A4 and A7.

At the signing ceremony, Mr. Bas Degeling said: “As a leading corporation in the elevator and escalator industry in Finland, KONE Group in general and KONE Vietnam LLC in particular are always interested in cooperating with higher education institutions to promote skills training for students to meet the actual requirements of the job”. The Managing Director of KONE Vietnam expressed his intention to support the University in promoting innovative activities for learners.

In the discussions, President Nguyen Ngoc Long and Managing Director Bas Degeling discussed the need for cooperation in research and use of jump lifts in the future traffic works in Vietnam.
