From 25 to 27 December, 2022, the 4^th International Conference on Sustainability in Civil Engineering - ICSCE 2022 took place at the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) with the participation of a large number of national and international scientists.

In the opening speech, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Long - President of the University of Transport and Communications - emphasized that sustainable development is an important trend in civil engineering. This is also a topic of great interest to the research community. Right from 2016, as the leading university in civil engineering and transportation in the region, the UTC has organized intensive research groups in this field; and organize the conference periodically every 2 years.

With 6 keynote speakers and more than 200 papers, 162 full-text papers from 14 countries around the world including: Algeria, Belgium, Portugal, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cambodia, Taiwan-China, Korea , French, Russian Federation, Myanmar, Japan, China and Vietnam. The papers focus on many important areas in civil engineering.

Based on the review results, the International Scientific Committee of the Conference chose to approve 120 full-text papers; 30 of which were selected for publication in the International Journal of Materials and Engineering Structures (JMes) in the Web of Science category; 90 selected papers published in Lecture Notes in Civil Engineering of the world famous Springer Publishing House, in the SCOPUS category.

At the plenary session, a number of topics of global interest were reported, such as: The use of new tools and technologies for the management of existing infrastructures - Worldwide perspectives; Innovative solutions for solid waste recycling toward a circular economy; Development and characterization of controlled low-strength materials as heat transfer media for horizontal heat source pump systems; Dissemination of technic for concrete using low-quality recycled aggregate to achieve a sustainable environment — examination on design method and validity of recycled aggregate concrete; Geospatial information technology for natural disaster early warning, ...

After the plenary session, the workshop held 8 sessions with presentations from 120 domestic and foreign authors.

ICSCE - The conference on sustainability in civil engineering has gradually affirmed its position as a high-quality international forum that attracts many domestic and foreign scientists, experts, and scholars. Moreover, ICSCE is also an event in the list of major conferences in the world.
