University of Transport and Communications discussed with experts from Japan about the project "Smart Mobility"
On November 1st, 2024, the University of Transport and Communications had a meeting and worked with Japanese experts who are implementing and will implement components of the Project "Smart Mobility/Smart Information Station Challenge in Vietnam".
Attending the meeting, on behalf of the University of Transport and Communications, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung - Vice President of the University and representatives of the leaders of the Departments - Faculties: Department of International Cooperation and Development Studies, Faculty of Electrical-Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.
Japanese experts from prestigious research units and enterprises in the transportation industry in Japan, such as: Mr. Tetsuya Sato - Japan Transport Research Institute, Dr. Yoshiharu Doi - Toyota Motor Company, Dr. Hiroshi Warita - Metropolitan Expressway Company Limited... The expert group and Mr. Tran Vu Tuan Phan - Acting Director of the Center for Science and Technology Services (ITSC) - Ministry of Science and Technology introduced the components of the project that are being and will be implemented in Vietnam. Speaking at the meeting, Vice President Nguyen Van Hung agreed on the cooperation between the two sides in the coming time, assigning the International Cooperation and Development Studies Department as the focal point for the exchange on the part of the University, assigning relevant departments of the Faculty of Electrical – Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering to coordinate in implementing professional cooperation. Vice President Nguyen Van Hung emphasized the specific tasks that the two sides can cooperate on, including: coordinating the organization of online training courses; organizing competitions for students in the field of smart transportation/mobility; proposing basic standards; researching and piloting practical models; organizing seminars to evaluate models and applied technologies towards product commercialization.
