In the afternoon of September 8th, 2022, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) organized a cooperation signing ceremony with Huawei Technologies (Vietnam) Co. Ltd. under Huawei Group – a leading global provider of information and communications technology infrastructure and smart devices. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Wei Zhenhua - General Director, Ms. Fiona Ly - Deputy General Director, and representatives of functional units of Huawei Technologies (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. On the UTC side, there were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice President, and representatives of leaders of the following units: International Cooperation and Development Studies Department, Personnel Organization Department, Undergraduate Education Department, Faculty of Electrical - Electronic Engineering, and Faculty of Information Technology.The main content of the cooperation agreement is to assist in enhancing ICT tranining for UTC lecturers and students, creating job opportunities for students and strengthening the extensive cooperation between the two sides.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong, Vice President affirmed: “ICT plays an important role in promoting socio-economic development and improving the quality of life. The University is very pleased to sign a MoU with Huawei Vietnam to implement the programs that the two sides have discussed in the past time in the field of information and communication technology and hopes for a further developed cooperation relationship.”
At the signing ceremony, Mr. Wei Zhenhua, General Director of Huawei Vietnam said: “In recent years, transportation has been an active participant in the digital transformation process. Huawei has cooperated with partners to build a comprehensive ecosystem, integrating ICT technologies such as 5G, Cloud Computing, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence to suit new business scenarios, to enhance high level of safety, ensuring the green, efficiency and experience criteria of the transport industry. Cooperation with the University of Transport and Communications - a leading university in the field of transportation - is an important step in the strategy of training and supporting future core human resources.”
