Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung was appointed President of the University of Transport and Communications by the Ministry of Education and Training
In implementing Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025, issued by the Politburo on breakthrough development in education and training, including the implementation of a model in which the Secretary of the Party Committee concurrently serves as the head of the educational institution, and with the confidence of the faculty, staff and employees of the University of Transport and Communications (UTC), as well as the trust of the leadership of the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), on May 18, 2026, Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son signed Decision No. 1239/QĐ-BGDDT appointing Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung as President of the University of Transport and Communications for a five-year term.

This appointment represents the Ministry of Education and Training's recognition of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung's leadership and management capabilities, strategic vision, academic reputation, and outstanding contributions to the development of high-quality human resources for the transport sector. It also reaffirms the University's pioneering role in the research, development and transfer of strategic national technologies, particularly in the fields of high-speed rail and urban railways.
With a history spanning more than 80 years of establishment and development, the University of Transport and Communications has consistently affirmed its position as one of Vietnam's leading centers for education and training, scientific research, and technology transfer in the field of transport and transportation.
