Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung – President of the university – shared: “We are living in an era where knowledge, science and technology, and innovation have become the main driving forces of development. In this context, the development of science and technology, the encouragement of innovation, and the awakening of the entrepreneurial spirit – especially among the youth – have been affirmed in Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in developing science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. The resolution emphasizes the special role of universities, which not only train high-level human resources but also serve as centers of creativity, applied research, and technology transfer. The University of Transport and Communications, as one of the national key universities in engineering and technology, is deeply aware of this mission. The university affirms that scientific research and innovation are not only the foundation for training quality but also the pathway to bringing knowledge into service for the country’s development.”.
According to the summary data from the Department of Science and Technology, the student scientific research movement in this academic year has several notable highlights: the quality of research projects has been increasingly improved, with projects not only of academic value but also of high applicability, closely linked to practical issues in the transport sector; there has been collaboration with businesses and external experts, from participation in supervision to evaluation and acceptance, marking an important step in enhancing critical review and connecting training with the labor market and modern industrial development trends; the research group model has been increasingly expanded, with many projects implemented on a long-term basis, gradually professionalizing the research process toward publication, application, and transfer of research products; academic playgrounds, notably the National Mechanics Olympiad, have attracted enthusiastic participation from students and achieved many high awards, demonstrating comprehensive development in technical thinking, research skills, and academic spirit.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung shared with the students: “Today’s achievements are the result of your relentless efforts and the dedicated guidance of your supervisors. However, to go further, you must continue to innovate more boldly, dare to think, dare to act, and dare to engage with new and difficult problems that have yet to be solved. Innovation and entrepreneurship should not be mere slogans but must become a constant current in the thinking and actions of every student. I hope you will continue to keep the flame of passion alive, cultivate academic strength, constantly learn, confidently step into the world, and contribute actively to the nation’s development. Today’s conference is not the end, but a new starting point for deeper research journeys, stronger entrepreneurship, and more widespread innovation”.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung expressed his confidence in the youth, intellect, and dedication of the students of the University of Transport and Communications, and extended his gratitude to the lecturers, scientists, experts, and businesses that have accompanied the students on their research journey.
