In the afternoon of August 4th, 2022, the Vietnam-Korea International Seminar on Green & Digital   Infrastructure Development in Transportation was successfully organized at    the University of Transport and Communications. The seminar was co-organized by The Korea Transport Institute (KOTI) and University of Transport and Communications (UTC) to create a forum for Vietnamese and international scientists and managers to share the experiences and counter-strategies for green and digital infrastructure development, the 4th Industrial Revolution in the field of transportation.

The seminar is also an event to commenmorate the 4th Anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Korea Transport Infrastructure Cooperation Center (VKTrans). VKTrans was established in 2018 on the initiative of the Ministry of Transport of Vietnam and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of Korea.

Attending the seminar were nearly 100 delegates and scientists from ministries, agencies, research institutes, universities and enterprises of Vietnam and Korea. In particular, the seminar was honored to receive the presence and speech of Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan, Commercial Counselor of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam Mr. You In Kim, President of the Korean Transport Institute Jaehak Oh, President of University of Transport and Communications Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Long.

Speaking at the Seminar, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Long - UTC President emphasized: Developing green infrastructure and digital transformation in transportation is a highly topical topic and is gradually becoming an inevitable trend in the development of transport of Vietnam. It is hoped that the research results of the seminar will be well received by the functional units of Vietnam and Korea and continue to be commented and improved to become really useful documents in the management and development of the transport infrastructure of the two countries.

The seminar was honored to receive the direction and orientation of Deputy Minister of Transport Le Anh Tuan for cooperation between UTC and KOTI. Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan said: Over the years, Korea has been one of the major partners, making many concrete and practical contributions to the development of transport infrastructure in Vietnam in all aspects: policy, management, investment consulting, and construction of transport works. Many large and important projects in the development of Vietnam's transport industry have been the result of this cooperation. Deputy Minister Le Anh Tuan acknowledged the efforts of experts and scientists of the two countries who sent their papers to this seminar.

In his speech, Commercial Counselor of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam Mr. You In Kim highly appreciated the joint research results between KOTI and UTC and considered it an essential activity, be of great significance to commenmorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea.

Participants at the seminar listened to 09 presentations, including 01 keynote speech by the President of the Korea Transport Institute Jaehak Oh with the topic "Future of Mobility; Automation, Decarbonization and sharing" and 08 presentations by Vietnamese and Korean speakers. The presentations at the seminar are researches, practical experiences on the development of green transport and digital infrastructure, especially the sharing of Korean experts on the experience of formulating the policy to develop smart city, zero-carbon green city in Jeju and major cities of Korea.
