THE UNIVERSITY OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS SIGNS A COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH THE AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF HIGHER EDUCATION.
On May 12, 2025, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with the Australian Institute of Higher Education (AIH). This signing marks an important step in strengthening educational and research relations between Vietnam and Australia, in line with the shared vision of promoting human resource development in the digital era.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Trinh – Dean of the Faculty of International Education (representing UTC) and Mr. Trent McHenry – Director of Development (representing AIH) signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
Attending the signing ceremony on behalf of UTC were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoai Duc – Vice President, along with leaders from the Faculty of International Education, the Office of International Cooperation and Research Development, the Faculty of Transport Economics, and the Faculty of Information Technology. Representing AIH were Mr. Chris Morley – Trade and Investment Commissioner of the Australian Government (Austrade), Mr. Trent McHenry – Director of Development at AIH, Ms. Hiền Lê – Director of Business Development at Austrade, and Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong – AIH Representative in Vietnam.

The partnership established through the signed MoU will leverage AIH’s innovative “Block Model” teaching approach, which is accredited by the Australian Computer Society, in combination with UTC’s 80 years of experience in training hundreds of thousands of engineers and graduates who have contributed to the development of Vietnam’s infrastructure, technology, and economy. This collaboration aims to meet Vietnam’s growing demand for high-quality information technology professionals, with an estimated need of 1.5 million skilled workers by 2030. By offering internationally standardized programs in Vietnam, students can access modern, Australian-standard education at significantly lower costs compared to full-time study abroad, while also preparing for global career opportunities.
