University of Transport and Communications participates in Vietnam Science and Technology Day

To celebrate Vietnam Science and Technology Day on May 18, the University of Transport and Communications participated in the event themed “Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation: Breakthroughs to Lead the Nation into an Era of Wealth and Prosperity”, held on May 16, 2025, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The working delegation of the University of Transport and Communications attended the Science and Technology Day event

This year’s event took place in the context of the science and technology sector focusing on implementing Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo. The resolution identifies the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key factors, essential conditions, and the best opportunity for Vietnam to make breakthroughs and realize its aspiration to become a prosperous and powerful nation in the new era.

The event brought together hundreds of scientists and technology experts from both domestic and international backgrounds, along with representatives from the Government and regulatory agencies. The Ministry of Science and Technology will share directions for the development of science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in the coming period.

On the sidelines of the event, an exhibition showcased the achievements in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation from startups, research institutes, and universities.

In response to Vietnam Science and Technology Day, the University of Transport and Communications selected science and technology products designed and manufactured by its scientists, including models, automation solutions, and smart sensor systems. These are the results of serious investment in applied research and the university’s strategic orientation toward training high-quality STEM human resources. The university’s exhibits at the event attracted significant interest from the many delegates and guests in attendance.

Since 2013, May 18 has been designated as Vietnam Science and Technology Day, associated with a historic milestone more than 60 years ago. On May 18, 1963, at the first National Congress of the Vietnam Association for the Dissemination of Science and Technology (the predecessor of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations), President Ho Chi Minh, on behalf of the Party Central Committee and the Government, attended and offered his congratulations, demonstrating his special attention to the intellectual community and the development of science and technology in the country.

Over the past 12 years, May 18 has become an occasion to honor those working in the field of science, showcase research outcomes and technological achievements, and promote the application of science and technology in production and daily life.
