University of Transport and Communications visited and presented the donation to families affected by storm No. 3 in Vinh Yen commune (Bao Yen, Lao Cai)

On the morning of October 21, a delegation from the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) led by People's Teacher Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Long - President visited and presented the donation to two households whose houses were damaged by storm No. 3 in Vinh Yen commune (Bao Yen, Lao Cai).

The delegation of the University also included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong - Party Committee Secretary, Chairman of the University Council; Comrade Nguyen Tien Dung - Chairman of the Trade Union, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tu – Director of the Administration Department, Dr. Mai Nam Phong – Director of the Student Affairs Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Tien Thanh – Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Dr. Luong Xuan Chieu - Director of the Center for Transport Science and Technology. On the local leadership side, there was Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, the Party Committee and the government of Vinh Yen commune.

At the meeting, People's Teacher Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Long - President, on behalf of the University of Transport and Communications, directly presented two cash gifts with a total value of 200 million VND to two households: Mr. Hoang Quoc Su, Khuoi Veng village and Mr. Hoang Van Sach, Nam Muoc village, Vinh Yen commune, whose houses were completely collapsed due to the circulation of storm No. 3. The amount of money was mobilized by the University from staff, lecturers, and students to support people affected by storms and floods. People's Teacher Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Long – President of the University briefly introduced the formation, development as well as the outstanding results in teaching and learning that the University has achieved in recent years; and shared the damage to people, property, and the difficulties Bao Yen is facing. The donation, although not large, will provide additional resources for the two households to soon build a new house, stabilize their lives, and settle down.

The impact of storm No. 3 has affected nearly 100 houses in Vinh Yen commune, of which nearly 30 houses suffered damage of 70% or more. Receiving the gift, the household was very touched and happy, with this support, the family will soon rebuild the house.

Ms. Ma Thi Ba, Khuoi Veng village, Vinh Yen commune, Bao Yen shared: During the recent storm, her family's house collapsed and received help and support from many organizations and individuals in terms of cash and necessities. Today, her family continued to receive support of 100 million VND from the University of Transport and Communications, she is very happy and will use this money to rebuild a new house as soon as possible.

The UTC’s delegation visited a household whose house was damaged in Khuoi Veng village, Vinh Yen commune.

Immediately after presenting gifts at the commune hall, the UTC’s delegation directly visited and gave small gifts to Mr. Hoang Quoc Su's family whose house was damaged in Khuoi Veng village, Vinh Yen commune.
