Flagpole Inauguration Ceremony in An Son Commune, Kien Hai District, Kien Giang Province

In the exciting atmosphere of the whole country to celebrate the 42^nd Anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day (November 20, 1942 - November 20, 2024) and towards the 80^th Anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th Anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024). On October 28, 2024, the University of Transport and Communications; Thuy Loi University; Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with the People's Committee of Kien Hai District organized the Flagpole Inauguration Ceremony in An Son Commune, Kien Hai District, Kien Giang Province.

Attending the ceremony on the local side were comrade Le Minh Tri - Vice Chairman of Kien Hai District People's Committee, comrade Tran Quoc Toan - Secretary of An Son Commune Party Committee. On the side of the three universities were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Long - President of the University of Transport and Communications, Prof. Dr. Trinh Minh Thu - Rector of Thuy Loi University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mai Thanh Phong - Rector of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City and comrades who are leaders; heads and deputy heads of departments and offices of the three universities.

Comrade Le Minh Tri - Vice Chairman of Kien Hai District People's Committee spoke at the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Le Minh Tri - Vice Chairman of Kien Hai District People's Committee affirmed our Party's viewpoint of "resolutely and persistently fighting to firmly protect independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, airspace, and sea; maintaining a peaceful and stable environment for development"; contributing to arousing national pride, love for the homeland of all classes of Vietnamese people, creating endogenous strength, motivation to protect and develop a prosperous and happy country.

After more than 01 month of construction, the flagpole project in An Son commune, Kien Hai district, Kien Giang province has been officially completed and put into use. The project has a very special meaning for the Party Committee, government, army and people of An Son commune. The project has the participation of the University of Transport and Communications, Thuy Loi University, Ho Chi Minh University of Technology - Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam National University.

On behalf of the locality, comrade Le Minh Tri sent his sincere thanks to 03 units (University of Transport and Communications, Thuy Loi University, Ho Chi Minh University of Technology - Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam National University) for their enthusiastic support in terms of material and spirit to complete the construction of the Flagpole on schedule to ensure quality in An Son commune, Kien Hai district.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Long – President of the University of Transport and Communications, representing the three universities participating in the construction of the national flagpole, expressed the common pride of the three units in accompanying the locality in building a project of great significance in affirming Vietnam's territorial sovereignty, with profound educational significance, arousing and promoting national pride, expressing love for the homeland, love for the sea and islands. At the same time, the project contributes to consolidating and raising awareness among the younger generation, cadres, party members and people about the role and strategic position of the sea and islands in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
