Following the direction of the Party Committee and the Presidential Board, in 2021, despite being affected and disrupted some direct activities by Covid-19 epidemic, the University's scientific and technological activities continued to proceed as planned and achieved many important results.
Regulations System, Software And Database Of Science And Technology Continue To Be Supplemented And Complete
In 2021, the University has supplemented and completed the regulations on registration and approval of grassroots initiatives, regulations on management of companies, centers of the University, instructions for registration and use of Google Scholar accounts; implemented the science and technology activity plan for each academic year in the 2021-2025 period of the units in the University to achieve the targets of science and technology which were set out in the Resolution of the 30th University’s Party Congress .
The software system for managing science and technology activities on the e-Office has gradually been transferred to operate on the Usmart system and continues to be perfected. The website to operate the online Journal of Transport Science has been completed; the software and website to advertise science and technology products, the scientific résumés of the lecturers in the University has been being completed to be put into service in early 2022.
The development of the University's science and technology database has significantly contributed to statistical activities, analysis and planning of science and technology by phases; examine, evaluate and offer science and technology management policies and solutions to serve the University.

Multiple Science & Technology Proposal In Protocol And State Level Got Approved With Huge Funds
In addition to being assigned to lead the implementation of 11 new scientific research projects of the Ministry of Education and Training, 04 scientific research projects of the Ministry of Transport, 02 scientific research projects of Hanoi city, 2021 also marked the year that the University got the most approved proposals of Protocol and State-level proposal ever, including 02 Protocol ones with Germany, 01 Protocol one with Hungary and 01 State-level project which is in the process of finalizing approval with a total estimated cost of over 20 billion dong, starting in 2022.
Prestige International Science Publications Continues On Fast Growth
Thanks to the policies of investment, commendation and encouragement of prestigious international scientific publications, and regulations on recording and unifying the University's name in scientific works and academic databases, the number of scientific publications in the Web of Science (WoS)/Scopus catalog of the University have increased significantly. In 2021, according to statistics by the beginning of December, the University's lecturers have published 119 articles in the WoS, an increase of nearly 50% compared to the same period in 2020.
The Transport And Communications Science Journal Officially Joined The Aci Database System (Asean Citation Index)
On October 25, 2021, after more than 3 months of review, the Transport and Communications Science Journal of the University was officially included in the Southeast Asia Citation Index (ASEAN Citation Index). - ACI). The journal has been included in the ACI system by the ACI Steering Committee.
This event once again shows that the Journal has affirmed its position and prestige in the ASEAN region and internationally, moving towards joining the Scopus and Web of Science portfolio. The journal has become an important address for domestic and international scientists to exchange and publish new research results from many different fields such as Traffic Construction Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Transport Economics, Electrical – Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, Environment and Traffic Safety. This will greatly contribute to the strong development of Undergraduate and Graduate education at the UTC in particular and the development of science and technology fields serving domestic and foreign transportation in general.

Intellectual Property Registration Activities Increased In Quantity And Quality

Scientific Conference Activities Happen Regularly And Witness An Increase In Quantity.
Despite being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, science and technology activities in the academic 2020-2021 still took place and achieved good results in a combination of both face-to-face and online forms. UTC and the domestic and foreign agencies organized online international conferences and seminars with the participation of hundreds of scientists, managers and experts in Vietnam and abroad.

Students' Scientific Research Continues To Win High Principles In All Level Competitives
Despite being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the subcommittee session of the Student’s Scientific Research Conference was still conducted online on the MS Teams platform. The University has selected 10 excellent topics, completed the application and submitted to participate in ministerial-level competitions. In addition, the 2nd video clip making contest with the theme: "Students of the University of Transport and Communications with scientific research activities" was still conducted online. This year's contest still attracts a large number of students to participate in and the large amount of interaction on social networks, thereby contributing to promote the University's activities to the society.
Student creativity competitions on and off campus and the number of awards in national and international recreation student competitions are increasing. The project by the group of students led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Sang entered the final round and won the second prize of the Student’s Scientific Research Competition at the Ministry of Education and Training's level in 2021.
