The University of Transport and Communications welcomes and works with Chodai & Kiso-Jiban Company

On the morning of December 3, 2024, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) hosted a meeting with Chodai & Kiso-Jiban Vietnam Co. Ltd. The delegation from Chodai & Kiso-Jiban included Mr. Yasuji Nagaya - Chairman of People, Dreams & Technologies Group; Mr. Masahiko Kato - International Division Director of Chodai Co. Ltd; and Mr. Ho Thai Hung - Director of Chodai & Kiso-Jiban Vietnam Co. Ltd.

Welcoming and working with the delegation, UTC’s Vice President, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung, engaged in an open and constructive discussion regarding research collaboration opportunities between UTC and Chodai & Kiso-Jiban. Both sides agreed to soon transform these opportunities into practical and impactful initiatives.

Chodai & Kiso-Jiban Vietnam Co. Ltd (CKJVN) had signed a memorandum of cooperation with UTC since November 9, 2022. The company currently provides scholarships to students of the Faculty of International Education through the JP-INED Fund and organizes academic exchange and student research activities.

As a wholly-owned subsidiary of Chodai Co. Ltd (Japan) in Vietnam, CKJVN inherits extensive project management experience and leading technical expertise from the Chodai Group in Japan. In addition to its deep understanding of local conditions, CKJVN has accumulated significant experience in major infrastructure projects funded by JICA, ADB, and World Bank, both in Vietnam and globally. Some notable projects involving CKJVN include: The bridge to Hon Tre Island (Nha Trang); Nhat Tan Bridge; Can Tho Bridge; four main roads in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area; Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway; Hai Phong's main trunk road project (Nguyen Trai Bridge, Vu Yen Bridge, and Hai Phong City Ring Road III); Bosphorus 3 Bridge (Turkey); and rural traffic improvement bridge replacement project (Papua New Guinea).
