UTC awards Graduation certificates to nearly 3,000 new graduates and engineers from Cohorts 62 and 63

On the morning of September 7, 2026, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) held a Graduation Ceremony and awarded graduation certificates to graduates and engineers from Cohorts 62 and 63. Nearly 3,000 new graduates and engineers received their graduation certificates in this graduation round.

The ceremony was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoai Duc, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President; representatives of relevant functional units; faculty members; parents; and 135 outstanding graduates representing nearly 3,000 new graduates and engineers receiving their graduation certificates in this round.

Cohort 63 of the bachelor’s degree programs and Cohort 62 of the engineering degree programs were conducted against the backdrop of significant reforms in Vietnam’s higher education sector, particularly in curricula, training methods, university governance, and digital transformation. In this context, the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) has progressively renewed its curricula, training organization methods, and management of students’ learning processes, from course registration and course management to scheduling, academic progress monitoring, and the assessment and recognition of graduation.

Throughout their studies, students in Cohort 63 bachelor’s degree programs and Cohort 62 engineering degree programs were trained under curricula with increasingly demanding requirements in terms of knowledge, skills, and learning outcomes. In addition to foundational and specialized courses, the curricula have placed increasing emphasis on connecting academic knowledge with practical applications, enhancing students’ ability to apply knowledge, and developing their professional competencies.

In this graduation round, 1,292 new graduates and 1,588 engineers were awarded graduation certificates. Among them, 135 students graduated with Excellent distinction (4.74%), 930 with Very Good distinction (32.63%), 1,703 with Good distinction (59.75%), and 82 with Average distinction (2.88%).

Speaking at the Graduation Ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong, Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of the University, extended his congratulations to the new engineers and graduates on successfully completing their training programs and being awarded their graduation certificates. He also shared the following message:

The degrees you receive today are not merely certificates confirming the completion of a training program. Behind these degrees are the years of your youth, your own efforts and perseverance, the dedication of your lecturers, and, above all, the love, sacrifices, trust, and expectations of your families. You are graduating at a time when the country is entering a new stage of development, with increasingly high demands for human resources. Science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation are advancing rapidly. Artificial intelligence, big data, automation, and digital technologies are quickly changing the way we learn, work, and organize production. In the fields of transport and infrastructure development, emerging requirements for smart transportation, high-speed railways, urban railways, digital infrastructure, and sustainable development are opening up new career opportunities while also placing new demands on every engineer and graduate.

The knowledge you have acquired at the University is an important foundation, but it cannot constitute all the preparation you will need for your future careers. Technology can change very rapidly, and many tasks that are performed in one way today may be carried out in an entirely different way in just a short period of time. Therefore, what matters is not only the knowledge you have learned, but also your ability to learn independently, think critically, embrace innovation, and pursue lifelong learning.

A university degree is not the end of your journey of knowledge; rather, it is a foundation for you to continue learning throughout your lives. Always take the initiative to update your knowledge, master new technologies, and improve your foreign-language proficiency and professional skills. More importantly, learn from practical experience, from your colleagues, and from your own experiences throughout your studies, careers, and personal growth.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong also emphasized that, alongside knowledge and professional competence, graduates should always uphold integrity, a sense of responsibility, and professional ethics:

“Each of you will have your own path. There is no single formula for success, nor do you need to measure your success against someone else’s journey. What matters is that you define your goals, remain persistent in your choices, and continuously strive to improve yourself every day. The University hopes that wherever you go and whatever you do, you will always remember the University of Transport and Communications, your lecturers, your friends, and the years of youth you spent under the roof of this University. Always carry with you the pride of being a UTC student and the spirit of ‘We are proud of our University, and our University is proud of us.’”

Nguyen Hong Hanh, a new graduate from Cohort 63 of the Economics program, spoke on behalf of nearly 3,000 new graduates and engineers receiving their graduation certificates. She shared her unforgettable memories of the journey of learning and personal growth under the roof of the University of Transport and Communications, while expressing her profound gratitude to the lecturers and teachers who not only imparted knowledge to the students but also patiently guided them throughout their journey of growth.

“Perhaps one day, we may forget a few formulas, some numbers, or even the name of a course. But we will always remember the reminders, the moments when our teachers encouraged us, and the times they believed in us even when we still doubted ourselves.”

Deeply moved, new graduate Nguyen Hong Hanh, on behalf of the new graduates and engineers, also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to their families and parents—those who have always quietly watched over them, waited for them, and given them unconditional love without ever asking for anything in return:

“Today, we are standing here with our degrees in our hands. But if we were to divide this degree into many parts, we would know that it contains the dedication of our teachers, the support of the University, and a very large part of our parents’ sweat, sacrifices, and love. We are grateful for life for giving us the privilege of being our parents’ children.”
