UNIVERSITY OF TRANSPORT AND COMMUNICATIONS SIGNS STRATEGIC COOPERATION AGREEMENT WITH MILITARY INDUSTRY - TELECOMS GROUP VIETTEL
On April 22, 2025, the Strategic Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony between the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) and the Military Industry - Telecoms Group Viettel took place.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoai Duc - Vice President of UTC, and Senior Colonel Cao Anh Son - Deputy General Director of Viettel signed the strategic agreement.
Attending the signing ceremony from the Military Industry - Telecoms Group Viettel were Senior Colonel Cao Anh Son – Deputy General Director, and leaders of functional units.
Representing the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Chuong - Party Secretary, Chairman of the University Council; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung - President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoai Duc - Vice President; and leaders of relevant functional departments.
Overview of the signing ceremony
Speaking at the Signing Ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung – President of the University emphasized that the University of Transport and Communications (UTC) is oriented by the Government to develop into a key higher education institution in engineering and technology. The University is the only educational institution selected in the field of transport and is one of the 18 public higher education institutions prioritized by the Government for consideration of investment in basic-level semiconductor laboratories, serving the training of human resources for the semiconductor industry.
In 2025, the University was ranked 481–490 in the QS Asia University Rankings by QS – United Kingdom. “This recognition serves as clear evidence of the University’s growing reputation and standing both in Vietnam and across the region.” he stated.
Through the strategic cooperation agreement between UTC and Viettel, the two sides commit to collaborate in research, development, and application of advanced transportation technologies such as intelligent transportation systems, urban railways, and high-speed railways; At the same time, they will jointly build a smart university education ecosystem, aiming for comprehensive digital transformation; Train and foster high-quality human resources in the fields of cybersecurity, AI, Big Data, and the semiconductor industry. Both parties are committed to transferring and commercializing scientific and technological products, contributing to promoting the country's socio-economic development. This is a strategic synergy, a long-term commitment to accompany each other on the journey to conquer the peaks of science and technology.
To concretize the cooperation content, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hung requested that the departments, faculties, and centers of the University of Transport and Communications urgently coordinate with the departments of Viettel Group to develop specific training and research cooperation plans; and at the same time, promote the strengths of each party, take strong and creative actions, and turn today's commitments into practical achievements, contributing to the sustainable development of the country.
